KDE4 - Elune by half-left KDE4 - Elune by half-left
This is a theme based on Elune

Special thanks to :iconminhtrimatrix: for the permission to make the theme for KDE4.

Icons [link]

Wallpaper [link]

Instructions:

Extract the theme to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/

Select the theme in System Settings>Workspace Appearance>Desktop Theme>Theme

If the theme doesn't show right for some reason, delete the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_Elune.kcache

Notes

If you are using a 2D desktop(not OpenGL accelerated with desktop effects on) you will find a folder named "light-panel". Copy the "icons" folder inside and overwrite the one in the theme directory and copy the "arrows.svgz" into the "widgets" folder, overwriting the file in there. These are dark assets for the opaque panel in 2D mode. Delete the cache file as said above if you have any problems and things don't change.

Elune style menu icons are in the "extra" folder(right click>Application Launcher Settings to change the menu icon).

Hey, I've noticed some bugs/problems/whatever that seem to be particular to this theme...
If the panel is higher than 24 pixels, there is a 1px completely transparent gap under it, and sometimes I can click through it and the regular desktop menu appears. Only happens if the panel is on the bottom.
Also, if the Outline desktop effects plugin is turned on, the outlines are a solid color, not transparent like they are supposed to be (?). Distro is openSUSE with KDE 4.10, if it matters.

Thanks, just tracked down the issues, will do an update. If you're watching me you will receive a message about the theme being updated.

Thanks, the outline is nice now, but the 1px gap is still there. Here's a screenshot: [link] Maybe it's a KDE bug then?

Strange, I don't see that but yes it maybe a bug and the svg graphics is the same as the other themes.

I guess I'll file a bug then, and see what they say.

I wouldn't bother, it's a third party theme and it could be something I might find later on. I've actually reproduced it but having trouble tracking down just what exactly is causing it so you have to wait.

For some reason the theme doesn't show up in the desktop settings even though I've placed it in ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/. And there's no ~/.kde/cache directory to delete.

I'm using KDE 4.10. Any ideas on what I could do?

I figured it out. In openSUSE you'll have to put it in ~/kde4/ instead of ~/kde/

This is really one of your best themes. Would it be possible to update this theme, like what you did with your other KDE-themes? (system-tray-icons, lancelot, etc.)

It would also be nice to have a matching window theme. I see a lot of 'cool' Windows (7) themes (not round, but more square), that would look really good with this theme.

Anyway thanks for your work so far!. :)

I really like the 2D-background panel. Is there any way to activate this in OpenGL mode?

The only way to do that is make the files in the panel-background.svgz opaque.

Look in the description of the theme, that's the cache file you should delete then reapply the theme.

Not sure, did you try making the panel higher? Sometimes themes don't change until you resize, so try deleting the default cache file.

Awesome theme Half-Left. The only problem I have is highlighting in application menu. I can only see empty box, please see scrot: [link]
I have deleted the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_Elune.kcache but it's still not displaying correctly. The same happens with your SLAVE plasma theme. I have desktop effect enabled and using OpenGL.
Am I missing something?

Not sure why you have that highlight effect on the kickoff menu. What version of KDE4 are you using?

Ok, I'm using bespin window decorator. When changed back widget style to oxygen everything is fine. The issue only appears using your themes.

Not sure why that is because Kickoff uses the colour scheme here for the hover in the menu. I'll look into it anyway.

Does changing the colour scheme to something else show the text? I don't understand why it's using a part of the plasma background in that shot of the kickoff menu.

Changing colour scheme did not help, I think it's bespin related.
I'll ask mmesantos1 if he can replicate it as he was using Eluna and Bespin once.

Yeah, even if I switch to the Air theme I cannot see that hover effect like your shot and I have 4.8.4. Also, new update fixes the top panel so it should look better for you. :)
